The National Convention Centre is the largest purpose-built meetings and events facility in the ACT. With a range of more than 13 meeting rooms and event spaces over two levels, versatility is the key to the National Convention Centre. Following a AU $30 million refurbishment, which was completed in October 2007, the is conveniently located near to accommodation, ranging from three star to five star hotels and serviced apartments, shopping centre and most of Canberra’s main attractions.

Registration & Information Desk

Please go to the Registration & Information Desk on arrival to collect your name badge and congress materials. Staff will be on hand to answer any queries and provide information.

The RANZCO 2011 Congress Registration and information Desk will be located in the Ground Floor Foyer and will operate during the following hours:

Saturday 19th November 2011         1400 – 1800
Sunday 20th November 2011            0700 – 1730
Monday 21st November 2011           0700 – 1730
Tuesday 22nd November 2011         0700 – 1300

Parking

Parking is available underneath the National Convention Centre for 260 cars, at a cost of $12.00 per day, with internal lift access from the top level. There is also a voucher public parking across the road.

Getting There

By Air

Canberra International Airport is approximately 15-30 minutes drive from the National Convention Centre, depending on traffic.

By Bus

The Jolimont Centre, on Northbourne Avenue, is 5 minutes drive from the National Convention Centre. Murray's, Countrylink, Greyhound and McCafferty's all operate services from here.

On Foot

There is a walking bridge over Parkes Way, along Allara Street to Constitution Avenue and various walking paths through Commonwealth Park.

By Taxi

Taxis can be arranged via the Reception Desk in the National Convention Centre foyer.

Taxi pick up and drop off is via the driveway on Constitution Avenue. A taxi rank is located on Binara Street in front of the Crowne Plaza Canberra (approx 175 metre walk).

By Bicycle

There are cycle paths around the lake, across Commonwealth Avenue bridge, through Commonwealth Park and over the Allara St walking bridge overpass.

Shopping

The Canberra Centre is located 3 blocks from the National Convention Centre along City Walk. For further information on shopping in Canberra, please see the information section of the website or go to the Canberra Visitors’ Centre website.

Banking

All major banks are located within easy walking distance of the National Convention Centre, and ATMs are located in the lobby of Casino Canberra, adjacent to the Crowne Plaza Canberra.

Pharmacy

There are several chemists in the Canberra Centre (3 blocks from the National Convention Centre, along City Walk).
